Very busy and very warm

Oakfield Hog Roast continue to be very busy. Weddings near Battle and BBQ for the Jarvis Brook football tournament. Some times we are looking very smart in our wedding attire and at other times it is a little more casual but whatever the function, our pork is still the main attraction.

Pigs in fields

The weather is finally warm and the pigs are enjoying the great outdoors. Young weaners are in heaven, they have been turned out into the allotment and are enjoying all the remnants of last years harvest. Once they have turned over the soil we will plant this years plants.

What a wonderful day, blue sky and I heard my first cuckoo of 2013…summer cannot be far away. Fluffy chicks hatching and pigs lying in the sun. We will have to give them a wallow so they can cover themselves in mud!

Well the weather is slowly improving and our clay soil is drying out. Not quite grass growing weather but getting better. Young pigs are out in the fields ‘gambolling’ around and three are almost ready for the abattoir. Ducklings hatching nicely.
