British Lops

October 11, 2012 | Oakfield

Our new gilts, affectionately named the ‘two fat ladies’ have settled well into life at Oakfield and have now been introduced to the boar Gaffer. Mildred and Christine are in pig  and will be due to farrow in December.  The rain over the last few weeks has meant that the pigs have come into the yard early to minimise the damage to the fields, but if it dries up they will be able to run into the field during the day.

We  are planning to run some of the weaners into the allotment area to clear the ground – sounds simple but I suspect there will be a few escapes along the way!
